I have an idea for events:

You could map and script an event tower, with teleports to all the same (and maybe more?) events of Sonia.

A tutor/cm/gm would only be able to pull certain levers to start a custom event. Other events could be scripted to run automatically at a certain time (ex. every hour or 2)

Some of the custom raids that only admin can begin can include events such as raids, freebie handouts, dice games, and arena tournaments.

This would make Sonia's event system much simpler and would probably interest newer players

Votes for automatic events (which will probably raids since other events are harder to script).
To ensure that sonia isn't unplayable for hours since there weren't enough or good enough people online to clean the raid it could occur at a special area which can be accessed by a tp as LoW suggested or by a bridge/tunnel with a warning sign.

Bad thing: quite some mapping for just raids.

Raids could still be in town, north of town, and south of town as long as an admin starts the raid with enough people online.

Maybe several levers for different raids (dragon, demon, undead raids, etc) and the raid first starts off with the easiest creature in town, then harder on the outskirts of town, and finally hardest creature of the raid spawning outside (north/south) of town.

Other events may be harder to script, but would make Sonia a nicer place.
